While Dr. Riehl primarily identifies as a small animal general practitioner veterinarian, her true love has always been the less common companion pets referred to as “exotics”. She spent the majority of her free/elective time in veterinary school at Tufts working in the Zoological Companion Animal Medicine Department (ZCAM) and upon graduation was awarded the ZCAM Student of the Year award. Instead of pursuing exotic animal medicine as a board specialty, Dr. Riehl entered general practice veterinary medicine with the specific goal of returning to Lancaster, PA to provide mixed-animal veterinary services to the community that she grew up in.
