Veterinarians

Practice Owner and Veterinarian – Limited practice at both Gap and Lancaster

Dr. Ashley Tuma grew up in Quarryville and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Zoology from University of Maryland, College Park. She attended Ross University on the island of St. Kitts for veterinary school and spent her senior year at the University of Illinois completing her DVM degree. Dr. Tuma has worked in several small animal clinics, mostly general practice, but has also done emergency medicine and worked for one of the largest no-kill shelters in the country.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children doing anything outdoors; hiking, playgrounds, swimming and traveling to new places.

Partner Veterinarian and Medical Director – Lancaster

Dr. Jennifer Morris was born in New York City. She grew up in Summit, New Jersey. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, for college and veterinary school. Jen has lived and worked in southern NJ, Pittsburgh area, and now Lancaster county for the last 7 years.

Her main love is connections, both human and animal, that she makes in general practice. But she also loves emergency work as well and can sometimes be found picking up shifts at PETS in Lancaster.

She enjoys spending time in her garden with her herd of dogs, including 4 Great Danes. Her husband and two sons bring her constant comic relief.

She is one of the primary doctors at our Lancaster location but does serve at both our clinics.

Associate Veterinarian – Gap

Dr. Adam Schwartz is originally from Florida and went to the University of Florida for both undergraduate and veterinary school. He has a big interest in surgery and dermatology.

He has a Bloodhound mix named JR, and a guinea pig named Penny! When he is not at work, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, running, weightlifting, fishing, and baking.

He loves to strengthen the bond between not only himself and the clients, but the clients with their pets as well!

Associate Veterinarian – Gap

While Dr. Riehl primarily identifies as a small animal general practitioner veterinarian, her true love has always been the less common companion pets referred to as “exotics”. She spent the majority of her free/elective time in veterinary school at Tufts working in the Zoological Companion Animal Medicine Department (ZCAM) and upon graduation was awarded the ZCAM Student of the Year award. Instead of pursuing exotic animal medicine as a board specialty, Dr. Riehl entered general practice veterinary medicine with the specific goal of returning to Lancaster, PA to provide mixed-animal veterinary services to the community that she grew up in.

Associate Veterinarian – Lancaster

I’m Dr. Brophy, a proud native of central PA, hailing from the charming town of Mount Holly Springs. My academic journey took me through Millersville University, where I majored in Biology and Studio Art (Ceramics). Following my passion for animal care, I pursued my veterinary education at LSU Vet School, specializing in small animal and exotic/wildlife medicine. Fun fact: I even had the opportunity to conduct research with Alligators!

After graduation, I immersed myself in the fast-paced environment of emergency veterinary medicine for 7 fulfilling years. Eventually, I found my heart drawn to the warmth of family veterinary care, where I thrive in nurturing lasting bonds with both pets and their families. This duality has become my joy, and I’m dedicated to excelling in both arenas. I’m proud to be Fear Free (Level 3) certified and have recently added Reiki to my toolkit, witnessing its profound positive impact on my patients and their loved ones.

But my journey doesn’t stop there. I’m embarking on a new chapter in Integrative Medicine, exploring the ancient wisdom of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine to complement my Western training.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find me indulging in my creative passions, whether it’s painting, gardening, weaving, or experimenting in the kitchen. I’m also an avid gamer, with a soft spot for Mario and Zelda, and I’m currently mastering the art of crochet (left-handed challenges and all!). And what’s a day without a cup of Matcha tea or Chai in hand?

At home, I share my life with my wonderful fiancé and our adorable fur family: a dogs, Teensy, two cats, Bananas and Doug, and a flourishing collection of orchids.

Associate Veterinarian – Gap

Dr. Corinne Ciaverelli grew up in Bucks County, PA. She pursued her lifelong passion for animals and obtained her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware. Dr. Ciaverelli earned her veterinary degree from the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She then went on to further her clinical skills and gain experience by completing a small animal rotating internship. Since then, Dr. Ciaverelli has been a part of two small animal practices where she has loved enhancing the lives of pets and helping their owners make the best decisions for their family.

Associate Veterinarian – Lancaster

Dr. Knox graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and went on to practice dairy cow medicine after school. Now as a small animal practitioner she loves preventative medicine, watching her puppy and kittens grow through life, and relieving foreign body obstructions through surgery. In her spare time she loves native plant gardening.

Associate Veterinarian – Gap and Lancaster

Dr. Misha Neumann is a Schuylkill County native and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Biotechnology and Conservation at Delaware Valley College. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and moved back to PA to start her career in Small Animal General Practice. Over the past decade, she has worked in Shelter Medicine and is very passionate about spaying and neutering. While she loves all species, she does have a special place in her heart for cats.

She shares her home with four feline housemates and, in her spare time, you can find her in nature, reading epic fantasy novels, or making things for her small craft business.
